Nevertheless, the heterogeneous and massive data bring significant challenges to real-time monitoring and decision making, particularly in timesensitive industrial environments. This work presents an online monitoring system based on an IoT system architecture, which is composed of four layers: 1) sensing; 2) embedded systems; 3) network; 4) service/Application layers. It integrates the signal acquisition, signal conditioning, data transmission to the remote server, and data analytics using different techniques. The field data such as compressed air pressure, air temperature is sent using the GSM/GPRS standard from the Transmit Terminal Device (TTD). The proposed system is implemented by sending data to a remote server. Results indicate that the proposed solution well addresses the challenge of heterogeneous data and their monitoring and analysis and industrial hazard prevention etc. The proposed system is to be implemented and demonstrated in a real aluminium production company with an integrated GUI and a Virtual Private Server. An intelligent algorithm is developed to detect leakage in the compressor airlines.
